Meet Esmeralda

Esmeralda was brought into Abbey Pet Hospital in Fresno, CA by a good samaritan who had found her in severe shock, unresponsive and unable to move. She suffered multiple bite wounds to her face, head, neck, and less serious punctures in other places on her body. The vets did not think she would make it at first, and were very close to opting for humanely euthanizing Esmeralda due to the extent of her injuries. She is missing a piece of her skull, does not have use of one eye, but judging by her spunky spirit, you would never know it!

She is around 12 weeks old and will be available for adoption with Fresno Bully Rescue when her veterinarians feel it's the right time. You may submit an early application for Esmeralda here. If you have any questions about the adoption process or requirements, you may contact Fresno Bully Rescue here.

Please note: Fresno Bully Rescue is responsible for all of Esmeralda's vet care costs, surgeries, and she will remain under the ownership of Fresno Bully Rescue until she is officially adopted. We are Esmeralda's current foster family and do not take any part in the adoption screening or process. She will remain in our care until Fresno Bully Rescue sees fit. We will post frequent updates of her condition on our Instagram network, and may periodically update people via blog, e-mail, or other social networks. If you would like to donate towards her care, please click here. Please contact Fresno Bully Rescue directly should you have any questions.

Follow her progress through the #oneeyedezzy hashtag, or on her foster mom, our co-owner, Instagram page @noelaniig!
